The Cavaliers boast one of the finest collegiate indoor tennis centers in the nation, which is named after the main donor, Charlottesville native Boyd Tinsley. Tinsley is a passionate tennis player and fan who has made generous contributions to the sport. In addition to the indoor courts, he sponsors the USTA Women’s Challenger Event at the Boar’s Head Sports Club and established the Boyd Tinsley Tennis Program, which provides instruction and equipment to underprivileged children. 

The indoor facility includes twelve courts, including a six-court stadium with seating for 1,200 spectators. The facility has hosted past ITA National Individual Indoor Championships and ITA Men’s Mideast Regional Championships. The Boar’s Head Inn, owned by the UVa Foundation, is regularly included in Tennis Magazine’s “Top 50 Tennis Resorts” rankings. For more than a decade, the Boar’s Head Sports Club has been the indoor home of Cavalier tennis.
