Scott Stadium

WELCOME

Scott Stadium is the iconic home of Virginia Cavaliers football and one of Charlottesville’s premier sports and entertainment venues. Officially known as the Carl Smith Center, home of David A. Harrison III Field at Scott Stadium, the venue combines historic character with modern amenities and offers a memorable game-day experience for fans, students, alumni, and visitors.

Originally dedicated in 1931, Scott Stadium has evolved into a state-of-the-art collegiate athletics facility while preserving its connection to UVA’s football tradition. A major renovation completed in 2000 expanded the stadium’s capacity to more than 60,000 fans and added enhanced concourses, luxury suites, improved fan amenities, and modern event facilities. Today, the stadium seats 61,500 spectators and features a natural-grass playing surface known as David A. Harrison III Field.

Set against the backdrop of the Blue Ridge Mountains and Monticello Mountain, Scott Stadium provides one of the most scenic settings in college football. Beyond hosting UVA football games, the stadium serves as a gathering place for major University events and community celebrations throughout the year. Fans enjoy a variety of amenities, including premium seating areas, concessions, video displays, and accessible seating options designed to provide an inclusive experience for all guests.

With its rich history, vibrant game-day atmosphere, and central location within UVA’s athletic district, Scott Stadium remains a signature destination for visitors experiencing University of Virginia athletics and Charlottesville.
