Horton Vineyards

Groups of eight or more need to call or email the winery for reservations.

WELCOME

New to the wine tasting scene? Horton provides the perfect opportunity to explore your palate as I discovered in my own first adventure into wine tasting. With so many choices it is easy to decide what appeals to you and what does not.

It is notable that sweet wines, fruit wines and dessert wines are ideal starters for wine novices or folks with a penchant for sweets. For those who prefer dry wine, fear not because there are still varieties such as Petit Verdo, Malbec, Chardonnay, Albarino and Roussanne to choose from.

A Mavrick among winemakers, Dennis Horton declares his vineyard the original home of Viognier, a varietal now as popular in production as it is in demand. Taste central Virginia’s claim to fame, Viognier, known for its delicate acidy and its essence of peaches and orange blossoms.

Featuring

World Champion

In 2021 Sùil, Hortons sparkling Viognier was the first of this variety to earn a silver medal and national recognition in the Champagne and Sparkling Wine World Championship.

Around the world

Innovative in techniques and varieties, Horton includes plantings of Bordeaux, Portuguese, South African, Georgian, and Spanish wine grapes.

Pick Your Own Tasting

With so many wines to choose from it is a great option to have the unique opportunity to build your own wine flight. The staff is helpful in guiding you in selecting the best wines suited to your taste.
