The Hardie Football Operations Center is an $80 million, 93,000-square-foot facility at the University of Virginia that officially opened its doors in June 2024. Located just off Massie Road in the heart of UVA’s athletic grounds, this state-of-the-art building sits directly next to the George Welsh Indoor Practice Facility. It completely replaces the outdated McCue Center, serving as the new, centralized hub for the daily operations, training, and meetings of the Virginia Football team.

Visitors to the facility will immediately notice the immersive environmental branding designed by Forty Nine Degrees, featuring large-scale graphics and dynamic visual displays that celebrate the history and tradition of the Cavaliers. The building’s core features include a massive 14,000-square-foot weight room equipped with high-tech velocity-based training gear, as well as a 5,000-square-foot sports medicine clinic. This medical wing boasts advanced recovery tools like an underwater treadmill, hot and cold plunge pools, and an anti-gravity treadmill. The center also accommodates student-athletes with modern player lounges, dedicated nutrition fueling stations, custom locker rooms, and advanced position meeting rooms.
