Birdwood Golf Course provides eighteen championship holes, a new six-hole par-3 course, and a large putting course. In 2020 following the redesign, Birdwood Golf Course was deemed by Golf Magazine as one of the top-10 courses in Virginia. The new course offers holes going in different directions than before, a new putting course, a short course, and team building and practice facilities for UVA’s men’s and woman’s golf teams. First opening in 1984, the course was highly acclaimed by Golf Digest, being rated as one of the top-10 collegiate courses in the US, and by Washington Golf Monthly as one of the Mid-Atlantic’s top 100 courses.
